What do you think of Hugo Duro’s performance, scorer of 9 goals so far this season?

The other day we asked him what his secret was to change the records, he said it was work, I think there is more than work, especially Baraja's confidence and a change of mentality. When you go through complicated situations like the ones the team went through last year, you can come out stronger. The example is to see how they are on the field, how difficult they are to beat. These players have lived through very tough situations, and they know they can't go through that again.

Youth, hard work, humility? That is the key to the success of Valencia CF, isn't it?

Yes, and it goes without saying that many of the players in this team have plenty of quality, but the most important thing is that they are hungry. I have the impression that Baraja has a very hungry dressing room and that they have realized that they have to follow to the letter what the coach tells them. Pipo' is a legend in Valencia CF, he has lived through all kinds of situations and everything he tells them is for their own good. On the pitch they don't spare any effort, this is wonderful, they know that whoever comes in has to do a little more than the teammate and that's already a lot.

You have been in many locker rooms, the key is to be a family, that's what this locker room is like.

Yes, indeed. In the end, everyone belongs to a father and a mother and there will be affinities, but what they transmit is that on the field they are a family. They support each other, they help each other, they defend each other, they die for each other.

Baraja is a protagonist and a reference in this Valencia CF. How do you assess the role of the coach?

I would ask Rubén to smile a little more, he had a hard enough time last season. You can't put a 'but' on him. He took charge of the team along with Carlos Marchena at probably the most complicated time in recent years, not only did he help to save the team, but he has also helped to promote a batch of players who are the future and the present of Valencia CF.All we can do is thank Rubén and ask him to stay with us for a long time, everything he touches at Valencia CF is a guarantee of success.

How do you see this Sunday's match against Atlético de Madrid?

The important thing is to take the pressure off the boys, it's the best thing we can do. Atletico is a very strong team at home, they are one of the favorites because of their squad, although we beat them well at Mestalla. The reality is that we are coming to a stadium where we can cause a surprise. For me, Atletico is the favorite because they play at home, but the team with Baraja has shown that statistics are there to be broken and I wouldn't rule out a surprise at the Metropolitano.
